Solution

$1+ 2+ 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 = \dfrac{(9)(10)}{2} = 45 + 55 = 100$

$\dfrac{100}{10} = \boxed{\text{(D)}\ 10}$
