A '''math team''' is a group of students who study or compete together in [[mathematics competitions]].  The members of the team are sometimes referred to as [[mathletes]].  Math teams are common throughout middle schools and high schools in [[North America]].  A few of the more popular contests in which math teams compete are the [[American Mathematics Competitions]] (AMC), [[MathCounts]], and [[Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools]] (MOEMS).
